Water, Florida’s most Precious Resource

My job allows me to work to facilitate a bridge between policy makers and the environment. If you live in Florida or are just visiting, it doesn’t take long to realize how important water is. Many come to Florida to visit our beautiful beaches. Often these visitors turn into part-time residents that we native’s like to call “Snow-Birds”. While many others become full-time residents.

In any case, knowing how vital this (our most important) resource is to our way of life will help ensure we do what we can to protect its quality and sustainability. The University of Florida’s Institute for Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) Extension produced a short video highlighting efforts around the state to do just that.

I hope this short video will encourage you to find out other ways you can protect our water supply. Whether you live in Florida, just visiting, or in your own community wherever you live.
