She Said Yes!

On Sunday, October 27, 2013 at approximately 1:00 p.m. the family was gathered in the living room after @ihearttampa and Christian had been baptized. As they both read the beautiful cards congratulating them on their profession of faith I decided it was time to “pop the question”.

While my original plan was a little different I couldn’t resist (or wait) any longer. This was the day to ask the most beautiful woman in the world to marry me.

Several months ago, knowing that her mom would be in town @ihearttampa and her son decided it would be a wonderful time to be baptized. Because this is such a special occasion, she decided to invite additional friends and family for an “after-baptism” cook out at the house. Once I realized all of our family and friends would be gathered in the same place I decided what better time to ask the question.

So, last Monday, October 21st I visited Spath Jewelers in Bartow and with great support and help picked out the perfect engagement ring. I placed a deposit and came back Friday to pick it up.

I called up my dad and three children to let them know of my plans and as the excitement built, my legs began to weaken. Not because I was having second thoughts or anything, I was at peace with this decision. In fact, this was the easiest decision I had ever made. @ihearttampa and I were brought together by God. No, my legs weakened because I was happier than I have ever been.

After the last card was opened, I stoop up from the couch, walked over to @ihearttampa and began to explain how, since being baptized is an example of a new birth (then I got down on one knee) I would like to ask for a new chapter in your life? Will you marry me?
