Cardiac Arrest to 5K “Times”

My Results……………GOAL: 3.1 miles in 35 minutes for the Carillon Classic 5k on May 2, 2015

Race Results from Cool Running. While I did not meet my goal of 35:00 I am okay with that considering how difficult the course was. Bok Tower’s course included many hills, gravel, pine bark and sandy soil to run on. Next year’s goal will be sub 30.

Since the race, I continue to jog 4 days a week. Currently, I try to jog 3.1 miles on the treadmill Monday and Tuesday. Then 3.1 miles around the neighborhood on Wednesday, Off on Thursday then what ever I feel like doing on Friday – usually at least 3 miles or the elliptical. 

Here I will continue to list significant workouts to document and help me power to the next level, also holding me accountable. I started with a goal to achieve 3.1 miles in 35 minutes. If a time is not listed, then I ran that distance in 35:00 minutes.

10/26/15 – 3.10 miles, 6:00 am in 30:20 minutes – Personal Best Record on the treadmill – PBR

08/14/15 – 3.1 mile Fun Run sponsored by FLC at 6:30 am in 35:04 minutes – PBR for a race

07/27/15 – 3.10 miles, 6:30 am in 31:50 minutes – Personal Best Record on the treadmill – PBR

07/16/15 – 3.10 miles, 6:00 am in 32:20 minutes – Personal Best Record on the treadmill – PBR

07/13/15 – 3.10 miles, 5:30 am in 33:11 minutes – Personal Best Record on the treadmill – PBR

UPDATE: Excited to have the beautiful @ihearttampa (my wife) join me in my quest. She is using the “couch to 5k” app and in just two-days is further along than I was after a month. She is awesome and will most likely pass me up within a few short weeks.
